For Researchers

Creativeworks London enables innovative research collaborations between SMEs in the creative economy and some of London’s finest arts and humanities researchers.

Making a Difference

Creativeworks London’s funded schemes provide a range of exciting opportunities for researchers to collaborate with SMEs in the creative  economy and with some of London’s leading cultural institutions.

The collaborative partnerships supported by Creativeworks London will enable the development of new research questions and methodologies, and will generate significant new knowledge of benefit both to the creative economy and the arts and humanities research base. For researchers, working on funded projects can be the beginning of exciting and sustainable partnerships.

Creativeworks London’s Creative Vouchers support collaborative research projects between SMEs and arts and humanities researchers from one of our partner institutions (see our partners page).

The researcher:

  • is funded to take out time for research
  • has interest in a specific business area
  • facilitates the growth of an SME partner
  • has the option of fostering long-term partnerships with these SMEs in order to work on future projects
  • can place and apply theoretical knowledge into to the ‘real world’

Creativeworks London BOOST scheme has replaced the Creative Voucher Scheme in the final stages of the Creativeworks London project. Creativeworks London BOOST is a follow on award that had been established to enable those businesses and researchers who have already benefited from Creativeworks London and London Creative and Digital Fusion support to develop and/or commercialise their ideas through an additional collaborative research project.

Please note that the BOOST scheme is now closed (June 2015), there will be no further funding rounds of this scheme.

The Creative Entrepreneur-In-Residence scheme allows entrepreneurs to benefit from the expertise of researchers at one of Creativeworks London’s partner universities (see our partners page).

This scheme:

  • facilitates researcher/entrepreneur collaboration
  • allows for the development of new and innovative ideas, projects, and products as well as generating new data
  • fosters researcher/entrepreneur longer term relationships

Please note that the Creative Entrepreneur In Residence scheme is now closed (June 2015), there will be no further funding rounds of this scheme.

The Researchers-In-Residence scheme enables doctoral students and early career academic researchers to develop their skills and share their research expertise with SMEs in the creative economy.

This scheme:

  • places doctoral students or early career academic researchers from one of our partner institutions in the field, thereby introducing them to the industry (see our partners page)
  • generates new data for research
  • fosters longer term relationships with the industry

Please note that the Researcher In Residence scheme is now closed (December 2014), there will be no further funding rounds of this scheme.
