Poetic Places App Launch
March 18, 2016 @ 1:30 pm - 5:30 pm
To celebrate the launch of the Poetic Places app, the British Library is hosting a half-day event around poetic places and the technologies that allow us to connect with them. Poetic Places is a collaborative project between Sarah Cole, TIME/IMAGE Online and Stella Wisdom, the British Library. Sarah is the library’s current Creativeworks London Creative Entrepreneur-in-Residence; the project explores relationships between literary geographies, cultural heritage collections, and real world environments, via the creation of a smartphone geolocation user experience that shares British Library digital content in relevant real-world locations; enabling participants to experience meaningful “poetic” connections between location, history and literature.
There will be talks from:
After the talks there will be a short walk where you’re invited to try out the Poetic Places app for yourself; you will need to install the app on your own device to enjoy this fully, so please bring an iOS or Android device.
Afternoon tea will be provided.
