Series: City Speed Debates

City University London is delighted to announce the third of our half-day seminars to be held ahead of the BBC Charter Review.

‘Does the governance and regulation of the BBC need to be changed?’ will be the theme of this seminar. These events have become known as ‘the City speed-debates’.

The first Chairman of the BBC Trust, Sir Michael Lyons, will be interviewed and other confirmed speakers include David Elstein, the former CEO of Channel Five, and Richard Tait, a former BBC Governor and Trustee. There will also be a speaker from the BBC Trust.


The event is organised by the Centre for Law, Justice and Journalism, in conjunction with the City University Journalism departmentand OurBeeb.

Registration will start at 9:30 and the first session will begin at 10:00. The seminar will end at 13:00 and a buffet lunch will be served afterwards.
