Open Data Institute: Job Opportunity

Open Data Institute are looking for a creative, collaborative and enthusiastic Head of Content and Production to deliver a diverse range of content, events, online and print publications to build the ODI’s community and reach a million people in 2015. The role will ensure that our brand is managed and implemented consistently across the organisation.

Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Content and Production must be an open data advocate who can lead, mentor and develop a dedicated production and events team.

The post holder will be responsible for overseeing all digital, print and event activity, creating, managing and growing the ODI’s learning collateral and platform, commissioning new content and building effective collaboration across the team and from our ever-increasing networked community.

To succeed in this role you must be able to demonstrate experience in creating and maintaining an editorial voice that compels people to read/watch/listen/participate. You must be able to condense complex ideas into stories and ideas that can be widely understood by non-technical and international audiences and edit and produce content specifically for digital platforms.

The successful applicant must have open data knowledge and managerial experience of content, design, technology, events and production teams. They must also be able to liaise with internal/external clients to create strong working relationships and experience of identifying and commissioning content producers.

This role will require excellent IT skills, web production experience, familiarity with HTML, RSS, Markdown and using content management systems and online tools such as Google Analytics and MailChimp.
