King’s announces Circle of Cultural FellowsKing’s College London has announced (26th November 2015) a Circle of Cultural Fellows. Building on the university’s success in developing a rich portfolio of connections with the cultural sector, the Circle – made up of 15 world leaders from across arts and culture – will enrich research and education, drive new thinking and increase the university’s engagement in London and beyond. King’s partnerships with artists and cultural organisations focus on adding value to the university’s student and academic communities and help ensure that King’s– and the knowledge generated within its academic and research communities – has impact beyond the university. The inaugural group of Fellows includes individuals from a variety of backgrounds including, among others: television, film, dance, digital media, theatre, science engagement and the visual arts. Fellows are invited to connect with King’s in order to enhance the university experience for students and staff as well as to explore and further their own individual and creative ideas. Each Fellow is committed to engage with life at King’s at some point during each year and over time, will make a difference across all our Faculties and student body. Speaking about the Circle, Deborah Bull, Assistant Principal (Culture & Engagement), said ‘I’m delighted to welcome these exceptional individuals to King’s as inaugural members of our Circle of Cultural Fellows. Many of them have been central to the success of the university’s cultural strategy over the last three years and each of them is uniquely positioned to share first-hand their invaluable experience of arts, culture and cultural policy with the King’s community. I’m thrilled to be able to announce such a talented and prestigious group and honoured that they have each chosen to support the university in its ambition to ensure that arts and culture enhance the King’s experience for academics and students.’ The Fellows are: Jim Al-Khalili OBE – Scientist, author, broadcaster For full details on the Circle of Cultural Fellows please see King’s College London website. |
