Job Opportunity: Commercialisation Executive at Queen Mary University of London

An experienced professional is sought to manage the commercialisation of research arising from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (H&SS), Queen Mary University of London. This is a new role working in the Technology, Engineering and Creative (TEC) team of Queen Mary Innovation (QMI). As such, you will help develop the commercialisation plan for H&SS by undertaking audits and benchmarking against other Universities.

The position requires an understanding of intellectual property rights and an appreciation of the commercial models that are appropriate for this sector. You will have a practical knowledge of appropriate networks and sources of funding and you will be required to raise staff awareness of commercialisation by promotional activities and running training programmes. The position requires a relevant degree and the ideal candidate will have some experience of working with academics in an appropriate area. You will also have good project management and communications skills, be a proactive self-starter and have an appreciation of contract negotiation.

This full-time permanent post will be based in the QMI offices at our Mile End campus. The salary is in the region of £30k, dependent on experience. Benefits include 30 days of annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
