Innovating for Growth Intellectual Property – Tender Opportunity

British Library Business & IP Centre Innovating for Growth programme is aimed at helping small and established businesses with the potential to grow. It provides £10,000 worth of tailored advice and support.

From business strategy to sustainability and branding, to developing your product, entering a new market and protecting your intellectual property, the programme covers the essential skills needed to accelerate your business growth. This programme is fully-funded by the British Library and the European Regional Development Fund.

The Business & IP Centre’s information professionals alongside selected delivery partners will help each SME to put together a growth strategy and plan for their business, as well as identifying the workshops and one-to-one’s each SME will need to attend to hone their business knowledge and skills.

There are six work streams on the programme, and we are now looking for a delivery partner to deliver on the Intellectual Property work stream.

Advice within this work stream will be conducted through one-to-one meetings, working closely with the Innovating for Growth Relationship Managers.

Focus will be upon the options to best commercialise existing IP within the business, specifically licensing, franchising and partnerships.

Building on IP basic training, the successful bidder will help each Innovating for Growth business develop their understanding of IP as one of the most valuable assets of their business.

The bidder will work together with the client to identify areas to protect and exploit their IP and brand.  The successful bidder for the ‘Intellectual Property’ work stream will need have demonstrable expertise on the subject.

Bidders will need to be able to refer the client to the most appropriate intellectual property option in accordance with their budget and business model.  We need to see particular knowledge and understanding of licensing practice.

The successful bidder will be familiar with all forms of Intellectual Property Rights, including licensing agreements and NDA’s, as well as international IP legislation and exploitation.

Please submit your tender here.

Deadline: 17:00 on Friday 15 August 2014
