Dr Sara Jones and Irini Papadimitriou took part in EU ICT 2015 conference

Creativeworks London Creative Voucher awardees Dr Sara Jones, City University London and Irini Papadimitriou, The V&A, took part in the recent EU ICT 2015 Innovate, Connect, Transform conference which took place in Lisbon, Portugal, 20 – 22 October 2015.

Sara and Irini were part of panel session ‘Driving Innovation through Creativity and the Arts’ which explored how breaking down the traditional silos between the arts and engineering/sciences and also between the arts and policy-making can unleash real creativity and innovation. The session also addressed the following questions:

1. How can the arts inspire creativity in general?
2. How can spill-overs from creativity in the Arts be harnessed by industry?
3. How can spill-overs from creativity in the Arts be harnessed by society?
4. Are there ways to foster this process of crossovers in the spirit of the STARTS initiative (S&T&ARTS) that attempts to integrate artists in H2020 project as catalysts for innovation?

Dr Sara and Irini discussed how Creativeworks London is part of the mix that is making it easier to drive innovation through the arts in London right now.
