CREATIVE VOUCHER SCHEME

The Creative Voucher scheme enabled small and medium sized businesses to partner with an arts & humanities-based researcher from one of Creativeworks London’s partner institutions. This section shows all of the projects that we have supported. More information about the scheme can be found here.

Project Title

Seemove : Building Networks of Interactive Experiences

Project Description

SeeMove is a gestural interface SDK that can see intricate detail from a distance, enabling tracking of objects as well as people, whilst not being limited to the desktop, a specific camera, operating system or device. It is a next-generation software solution developed by experts from the games and camera vision industries. It has the potential to transform the user’s relationship with their computers across a range of industries, by giving programmers the tools to integrate a completely new type of user interaction into their applications, utilising an advanced tracking engine.

This residency saw Seeper explore potential ways which SeeMove might be used in products for clients and looked into the development and licensing of middleware for other developers.

The SeeMove project culminated in a workshop at which were presented several prototypes demonstrating the technology, and possible applications for the proof-of-concept products were discussed.

The collaboration was subsequently extended, and a deeper analysis of retail opportunities undertaken. Working with faculty and students at City University this resulted in the development of a concept in a form ready to present to industry (specifically for firms creating marketing suites for off plan residential apartments). This concept successfully built on the above conclusions and represents a firm basis for further development and the project itself will continue.
